I only have a minute here so I'll have to post the whole birth story some other time, but I wanted to tell you all that our baby girl has arrived! Naomi Viola was born on tax day, April 15th, at 9:56 p.m. She was 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 19.5 inches.
Unfortunately, I ended up with a very unwanted but probably very necessary C-section (which is why I'll have to tell the story when I have more time).
But, she's here and she's such a honey pie. My husband is completely smitten with her, and she really is so sweet. I'm still working on really connecting with her - I think it's going to take me a little while, partly because of the C and partly because I'm still processing becoming a mom in the first place. But overall we're doing great - she's nursing pretty well and I'm slowly recovering physically. My mom was here for the first week and a half, which was a huge help.
So anyway, more sometime soon I hope...I think telling the story on here will help me continue to deal with my emotions surrounding the C-section.

Melissa - congratulations. That is wonderful news. I look forward to hearing your story.
I definitely felt like you did. I had a two day induced labour before it ended in an emergency c section. I felt quite disconnected for the first day of Liam's life. Quite a normal feeling. The love will certainly grow.
